Art of the Day

So last night I was working late at home and I had the TV on. An Irani movie, the Color of Paradise (Rang E Khoda, which I guess really translates to Color of God) came on, and I was instantly struck by the cinematography and acting. I stopped to watch it for a while. I ended getting no work done and watching the whole thing.

I am usually not into movies about village life, but at the end, I thought, Jesus, this was absolutely bloody magnificent - it's jaw droppingly, astonishingly, profoundly good. And probably a lil more viewer-friendly than films by better-known Irani directors.

I've rarely recommend flicks on bubblegen, But I can't recommend this highly enough. If you need a movie to watch, watch this.
