The success of mediacos in the next 24-36 months will be almost perfectly inversely correlated to the number of deals they do at
Sun Valley.
In other words, part of the problem facing media is the lack of new DNA. Doing what are essentially the same old deals with the same old (old) dudes won't lead to new advantage - because no new resources, capabilites, or crucially, new DNA reshape strategy space.
As always, Google is playing the
smartest game...
If you really wanna think strategically about media, I suggest - instead of "doing deals" - you pore over
his comments with a gimlet eye.
