If you're bored, SciAm has a cool article about information, holography, and cosmology, which is like a decent tutorial and intro to information theory (if you need one).

"...We can now answer some of those elusive questions about the ultimate limits of information storage. A device measuring a centimeter across could in principle hold up to 1066 bits--a mind-boggling amount. The visible universe contains at least 10100 bits of entropy, which could in principle be packed inside a sphere a tenth of a light-year across".
