A lot of people are saying that Apple doesn't have much invested in iTunes. I think Apple's just made the most significant investment it could: it's brand. By partnering with Pepsi, who is pretty much as far away in branding land from Apple as one can get, Apple has a huge risk of damaging it's brand equity.

That's a massive investment - worth much more than money to Apple. iTunes must have deep strategic significance for Jobs to take such a risk.
