The Absence of Strategy, pt 345
FAO files for bankruptcy. Sad. Is this about the dumbing down of the American kid, or the lack of strategic response to massive market shifts from FAO? Probably a bit of both.
Not to mention this quote, which I can't make much sense of:
"...Al Norman, a critic of Wal-Mart from Greenfield, Mass., who has battled store openings nationwide, said shoppers determined FAO's fate. "In Wal-Mart's defense, it is Wal-Mart shoppers who are killing FAO, not Wal-Mart," he said. "Wal-Mart is not the beginning of competition, but the end of competition."
