China is enforcing it's own security standard for all WiFi imports. Very nice (very transparent) move to semi-protect it's own markets, and exert leverage over the entire value chain.

What's the point? Probably to build credibility more than anything else - so it can send credible threats in the future. And maybe even push it's own global standard.

Oh, wait - that's exactly what it's doing with DVD. Interesting.
