USAToday's buzzing that Longhorn's being sold by 'pirates' in Malaysia 'years' before it's offficial release date. It's a ripped version from a presentation at a developer's conference.

This is not news - this has been going on in Asia as far back as I can remember (which is about 1985 or so). What is increasingly news is that the dream of technological property rights will absolutely never work.

Unless they build them into the BIOS. Oh - wait...

Here's more about Longhorn - none of which is really important, except the 'trusted computing' bit. Will fancier desktop graphics really do much for you? The web services stuff is more than a bit of a pipedream - largely because of metadata problems.
