Nice piece about open-source search and nutch.

Like I've said before, open-source search is going to have a revolutionary effect on almost any digital market connected to the Net for two reasons. First, because in the real world, the value of any information network is bounded by the efficacy of the search mechanism. And competition can only force efficacy upward. Second, because search commands very high rents right now - and competition will force these downward (massively, if it's open-source).
