Happy Meals for Adults. And they're healthy. I'm speechless. Not because I'm shocked - McDonald's has been trying to pursue fairly radical change - but because there's something deeply hilarious about this.
Is this radical innovation? It's a very interesting question. One thing's for certain: there is gonna be a new dominant design in fast food - and the prize is now certainly up for grabs again. The extension of the proposition from food into lifestyle - which is really the extension of the automatism to the conscious - is risky. But it attempts to speak directly to the tectonic shift in consumer needs in this market - so kudos to McDonald's (terrible ads and smelly restaurants notwithstanding).
