Pain Gun

As a former neuro guy, I think the pain gun is way, way over the line into torture. I say this because just imagine for a second how painful it would be to have even just one part of the body's fibers activate at moderate pain - it would be absolutely excruciating.

That's because we're used to fairly localized effects - one muscle, or a finger, or an ankle for instance. But to have a regional effect is doing the same thing that 'stress positions' and other fun devices (like the wrack) are meant for.

What could the justification be for using such a device? I guess I better not ask, or I might get it used one me.
