Social Networking
Nice post discussing theoretical viewpoints that suggest people need objects to mediate sociality (ie, photos on Flickr), and so LinkedIn etc are going to be dominated.
I don't necessarily agree with this - I could quote quite a bit of economic sociology, where sociality isn't mediated by objects, but instead by transactions (Coleman and Burt, for example, if you're interested).
Still, probably the first insightful post I've read about this space in months - highly recommended.
