Surfing a bit today, and found this great quote from Simon, in a paper by Ezster (PDF):
"...What information consumes is rather obvious: it consumes the attention of its recipients. Hence a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention, and a need to allocate that attention efficiently among the overabundance of information
sources that might consume it."
I hadn't read it before, though I have read plenty of Simon's work. It's a very nice way to put the fundamental premise of my media presentation.
