Evil Google
So I don't know if it's just me, but this morning Google told me my searches would be saved *and* tied to my Gmail account.
Mega-lame.
What's lamer is that finding the option to turn this off was almost impossible.
Who else uses opacity to impose costs on consumers? Well, telcos spring to mind.
The point is that it's a road no firm should go down. It points to a growing disconnect between the organization and the customer - a growing temptation to misuse market power, not to create value, but simply to shift costs from one party to the next.
Hey Google - get it together. Is my prediction of Evil Google the future Microsoft of the universe already coming true?
