Strategies for a discontinuous future.

About Bubblegeneration

Bubblegeneration is a strategy lab which helps discover strategic innovation. We study the economics of the future: the impact new technologies, management innovation, and shifting consumer preferences will have tomorrow on the industries and markets of today.

Bubblegen finds new dominant strategies for these new economics. New entrants can use these strategies to disrupt industries with obsolete economics; incumbents can use them to pre-empt and co-opt competitors.

Bubblegen also tracks emerging shifts in consumer preferences. Unlike coolhunters or trendspotters, Bubblegen’s conclusions aren’t based on sometimes fickle networks of influencers; they’re based on understandings of how the deep economics of consumer-facing industries are changing.

What does this mean? You can look at current practice areas for real-world examples.

Bubblegeneration’s Principal is Umair Haque. Umair studied neuroscience at McGill, did an MBA and econ/strategy research with Gary Hamel at London Business School in 2003, and began working towards a PhD in strategy and innovation at Oxford in 2004. Umair has spent time working in finance/economics, at a KP startup, and as a strategy consultant. Recently, he put his postgraduate work on hold to pursue Bubblegen full time.
